Seafood Aligue Pasta

Break out of your usual pasta and try this rich and flavorful Seafood Aligue pasta. made with al dente spaghetti noodles tossed in creamy crab paste sauce with juicy mussels and plump shrimp. Your seafood cravings will surely be satisfied with this dish!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups water
  • 12 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 onion, peeled, and chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 8 pieces mussels, soaked and debearded
  • 8 pieces shrimp, tendrils trimmed
  • 1 cup all-purpose cream
  • 1 cup crab paste (aligue)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste

Garnish

  • lemon
  • parsley
  • parmesan

Instructions
 

  • In a pot over medium heat, add water and salt. Bring to a boil. Add spaghetti noodles and cook according to package direction until al dente. In a colander, drain well and set aside.
  • In a pan over medium heat, heat butter until melted. Add canola oil.
  • Add onions and garlic. Cook until softened.
  • Add mussels and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add shrimp and cook just until color changes.
  • Remove mussels and shrimp from the pan. Set aside.
  • Add all-purpose cream and crab paste. Stir to combine.
  • Add cooked pasta and cooked seafood. Gently toss to combine.
  • Add lemon juice, parmesan, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve on a a serving plate an garnish with Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and lemon.

Notes

  • For a smooth consistency, cook the sauce in a simmer and do not bring to a rolling boil lest it separates or curdles.
  • Cook the pasta for 1-2 minutes less than the package directions, as it will cook further when tossed in the sauce.
